It is no secret that there is a Gym or Fitness Center seemingly on every corner in America. In fact, according to the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) there are over 60 million U.S. Health Club Memberships. But the question is what encourages your club members to stay on track? keep coming back? and make their membership more than a fall off New Year’s Resolution? It’s a sense of belonging, confidence, support & purpose! And a mobile app can help your gym build this customer relationship with your members by keeping you connected.

Here are 5 reasons every Gym & Fitness Center need an App

1. Push notifications
: If you didn’t know, push notifications are sent out in a similar way to text messages to all of the people who have downloaded your app. This is a great way to reach all of your customers, in one simple step, to inform them of special deals or important updates on what is going on- anything you feel is important for your customers to know.

Class schedules within 2 touches: Creating a tab in your mobile application with your gym or fitness center’s class schedule is a great thing to have available for your active customers. With an app, your customers can have access to times of their favorite workout classes, wherever they are, in two touches.

3. Differentiation: With a gym mobile app, you can market your gym in a new way. Going mobile is a very cost-efficient way to market your company to your customers. Mobile marketing is a great way for you to stay differentiated from your competition.

4. Integration: Social media is everywhere and most, if not all, of your customers use it. Integrating your gym or fitness center’s social media sites into your fitness center mobile app can be easily done and offer great incentives. You can offer a special deal, like a free gym visit, for new customer’s first time checking-in to your gym.

5. Word of Mouth- Create a buzz of your own by creating an mobile app. When your customers start using your app they will want to talk about how convenient it is and how easy it is to use. The positive word of mouth can create new memberships and get your gym or fitness center’s name out.

Ultimately your members want to connect with you and their fellow club members. Your Mobile App gives them a platform to do so.

  • Hey! Quick question that's totally off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My web site looks weird when browsing from my iphone. I'm trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to correct this issue. If you have any recommendations, please share. Appreciate it!

Hi Christian, The best way to make you site mobile friendly is to make it responsive. That means the site "responds" to the size of the screen it is being viewed on and makes the viewing experience the best it can be. Here is an example of one of our sites done this way http://artisticsmilesofga.com/ if you have more questions about this please feel free to send us an email - https://themobilevine.com/contact/
